1. Dancing With Your Quilts
Beginners (3 hours)

With just a darning foot and a spirit of adventure, enter the world of free motion quilting. There is no limit to what you can do once your inner rhythm is set to free-motion quilt on your home sewing machine. (Know your sewing machine and be able to drop the feed dogs. Leave your Featherweight at home.)

   

2. Waltzing On Your Quilts
Beginners (3 hours)

Advance your free motion skills by developing additional techniques without marking on your quilts. You will learn about threads and tools which enhance your work. (Know your machine, how to free-motion, and be able to drop the feed dogs. Leave your Featherweight at home.)

 

   
             
                                   
     

3. Beyond the Basics
Intermediates (3 hours)

Here is your guide to effective free motion quilting fills, embellishments, and specialty thread usage. Using both a walking foot and a darning foot, you will produce a small wall quilt while trying out various threads and techniques. Instructor provides some supplies. (You will need prior free motion experience and must know how to lower feed-dogs and how to attach walking foot.)

   

4. Trapunto the Easy Way
3 hour technique class or
6 hour project class

Open new vistas to your quilting and add another dimension to your quilts with this simple, elegant technique. Instead of pulling cords through channels and cutting holes in fabric, you will use batting scraps to plump out the quilting design. (Requires a darning foot; know how to lower feed-dogs;leave the Featherweight at home.)

   
                                   
   
Design a Class or Retreat to Meet Your Needs and Wishes
 
                                   
     
 

Easy Machine Applique
All Levels (6 hours)

Grab your scissors and scraps and enter the wonderful world of machine applique. You will learn various techniques* and stitching hints, and produce an applique wall quilt. Students are given choices of design. Requires a machines with zig zag stitch capability.

Simple and Stunning Embellished Applique
All Levels (6 hours)

Yes, You Can -- create incredible one or two-piece appliques without using the typical paper-backed fusible. The results are so stunning that they belie how easy they are to create. You will enjoy the hand colored embellishing and see demos of additional techniques to complete your applique repertoire.

Fabric Meets Fusible aka Collage
All Levels (3 or 6 hours)

Call it Broderie Perse Revised, or call it Collage, but get set for just plain fun. Using your choice of theme, you will use prints from various fabrics and fuse them into your own original design. Three-hour class is all fabric play; six-hour class allows time for stitching. Instructor's samples and designs will set you in the right direction, and then you will be free to follow your instincts and become your own designer. Students looking for free-spirited fun enjoy this process.

       
                       
           

Fabric Meets Fusible -- Or Not!
All Levels (6 hours)

Here's an easy free-spirit class which exits the traditional box and embraces collage. Begin with instructor's pattern and learn to vary it (or abandon it) by taking cues from you fabrics. Fusibles are optional. Great first "art quilt" (ohmygoodness) class.

 
 
     
                       
         

Courthouse Mania
One Step Beyond Beginners

A piecer's delight -- gather squares and strips and sew them into blocks. Cut these apart and sew them back together (only a quilter would love this) into a table runner (3 hour class) or a wall quilt (6 hour class). Warning: This can be addictive.

                       
 

Oh My Crazy Starz
All Levels (3 hours)

A relative of the "Stack & Slash" method, this method produces a star in each block. This is a simple, fun class enjoyed by all except the addicted perfect piecer!
