This quilt is the result of requests for a yearlong
block-of-the-month class. The students wanted a project that would teach
technique, beginning with the simple and moving toward more challenging
blocks. Some of the blocks were already in the Electric Quilt software,
and some I drew. I'm quite sure I learned more than the workshop participants
because there are stars on the back that I opted out of teaching! As my
students' stars progressed I began gaining confidence in my own abilities
so I decided I had to take the time to do intricate machine quilting to
stretch myself and to attain a goal of becoming good enough to teach machine
quilting. What a thrill when this quilt received "Best Machine Quilting"
in Seaside Piecemakers' 2000 show! |
