Gooseberry Pond (46 x 46"), named for the Goose in
the Pond block variation in the center, was planned to provide rust-colored
lame'
areas for trapunto. The trapunto stitching was done in gold and black metallics
- almost impossible to see in this photo! This arose from my appetite for
dimension in quilts which led me to Hari Walner's books on trapunto.
I wanted depth without the tedium of grandmother's trapunto method, so
it was exciting to read Hari's clear explanations and to find how easy
trapunto can be! |
