Move from everyday to extraordinary: cut up a commercial panel into blocks, add a secondary focus fabric with some strip-set blocks, and create your own unique wall quilt. Samples are to the left and in Gallery 3.

Learn various ways to create blocks made from strip-sets. This is a technique class in which you will make four different strip-set blocks and then play with ways to use them to produce exciting quilts. For examples of the blocks, see the above photos and the quilts in Gallery 3.
Simple and stunning, Bodacious Appliques are created from one or two fabrics and completed with hand coloring and thread embellishing. This is a technique class in which you will produce one or two appliques while learning to use interfacings and stabilizers to your advantage. Requires a $3 supply fee per student.

Using Bodacious Applique methods, combine a gecko and hibiscus flowers for a small wall quilt which gives you opportunity for adding creative embellishments. Requires a $3 supply fee per student.

Select a theme, gather prints from various fabrics, and fused them into your own original design. Three hour class is fabric play; six hour class adds time for stitching See more quilt examples in Gallery 2.
Enter the relaxed world of machine applique and create your own environment by arranging fusible motifs on a small wall quilt. Demos on bias stem making, double-sided appliques, decorate stitching and embellishments add to your personal creativity. 3 hours give time to create your word; 6 hours gives time to start stitching.


Trapunto yields elegance and added texture to quilts, and it's easy if you skip Grandmother's stuffing method and move into modern techniques. This is a good seminar topic for folks who want to learn without bringing in their sewing machines.
Class # 1: With just a darning foot and a spirit of adventure, enter the world of free motion quilting. There is no limit to what you can do once your inner rhytym is released to dance over your quilts with your home sewing machines.
Class #2: Advance your free motion skills by developing additional techniques. You will gain confidence as you learn about various threads and tools which enhance your work.

Note: 3 hour classes are geared for 20-24 students. Should you wish to add more students, extend the class to four hours. This ensures that the instructor can give each student personal attention.
